Today we went on a whale watching tour from Quebec city. 3.5 hours North-East through the mountains, enjoying amazing vistas, rugged boreal forest and numerous 'moose' and 'deer signs. Stopped at Baie-St-Paul to get fresh cheese, apparently the city is at the center of 350m old meteorite crater, they say it was a 2km rock. The cheese was extra good.
Boat went from Baie-Sainte-Catherine, the river is 20km wide there and green salty water coming from Atlantic doesn't mix well with brown fresh water from the great lakes. Wind is chilly, and the waves are quite oceanic. Saw several whales - magnificent creatures! Happy to know that here they are well protected, a lot of them come here to feed every year. Also saw grey seals, these guys are at home here in the freezing water, they say 7.4m of them are around though I only saw one. Amazing day, lots to remember 😄
