We took the ferry from PEI to Nova Scotia, it is large ship that goes so smooth that none of us sitting in the car in the ship's belly felt it departing or arriving. Kind of eerie. The view from the ship is amazing and the wind on the top deck is exhilarating. Ceilidh on the ship was an unexpected and awesome experience. Driving through Nova Scotia to Halifax we enjoyed great vistas, surprising but I didn't notice any "moose" signs or the fence along the road. Guess all the moose stick to New Brunswick.
Staying in Dartmouth, across the water from Halifax, so we're making use of those huge suspension bridges. Most locals have transponders so they don't need to stop and throw a loonie coin into the bucket, as a result us tourists enjoy a shorter line and faster drive.
Halifax is a port city on the mountain, you get the glimpses of the water from a lot of places, and I figure the steep slopes make for great sledding in winter. In the evening went to Le Bistro, the food and music were outstanding.
The waterfront is amazing! we walked along the water, ate ice cream, rode the wave monument, explored the enormously interesting Maritime Museum and boarded the "last corvette" HMCS Sackville. Halifax has a lot of space and air, and it feels good being here. This is the furthest point in our journey, will turn back home today. At this point we are all filled with new experiences up to the brim 😋
