Few more hours in Halifax... found a great chocolate place, enjoyed the boardwalk, the kids inspected the 'last corvette' and found it worthy. Btw, the yacht moored in the center of Halifax is up for rent, for about $1m a week 😁
Then the long drive to St Martins, where we spent a night in the amazing airbnb place. The road through the forested mountains was beautiful and curvy, and some passengers got a tad green 😣
The bay of Fundy is awesome. The tide is 8.5m, which is mind boggling even after witnessing it rise and fall a couple times. The scenic caves are to be experienced directly, we got lucky to go there at sundown, just the two of us, the sea and the sky. There's so much power hidden in that silence. The size of the cave and the drop off takes you outside of the everyday mind chatter. The thing simply does the interruption by its sheer enormity.
Morning saw us on the beach fishing, kids talked me into it. After half hour of casting the line not a single fish on the menu, but the participants got a good walk and a healthy dose of fresh salty air.
Amazing breakfast with the hosts, sharing interesting life stories of near and far. Sea chowder in a place by the caves is delicious.
Here is Murray the cat. An eagle came and sat in the tree above the house for a couple hours, screeching at him, cat wouldn't care less. They say he fought off a Bob cat.
Drive to St John's, sized up the city while searching for ice cream. Interesting architecture, enjoyed our walk through the center streets, though most everything was closed this late on Sunday.
Driving again, this time towards home. Chasing the setting sun though the mountains, totally spent we stop for the night in Edmundson.
